Hi, all! I got my BtVS adult coloring book today (http://a.co/5RiHeVi), and I wanted to let this group know that there are a few great B/A moments depicted in it.

They include:
-the bandaging scene from 1x07 "Angel" (the facing page has the "When you kiss me, I want to die" dialogue from "Reptile Boy")
-the ice-skating scene from 2x09 "What's My Line? Part 1"
-the Acathla scene from 2x22 "Becoming Part 2" (the facing page has dialogue from "Anne" ... you know, "If I was blind, I would see you")

(And if you're majorly anti-Spuffy, you'll be pleased to know I only spotted one Buffy/Spike page, and it was from "Something Blue," so under magical influence.)

What great news! Thank you, Grace!

I've decided not to get any more coloring books because I've barely started on the ones I have, but from what I've seen the art in the Buffy ones is really good.

This is only my second coloring book. I'm glad I got it before I got too much of a stack piling up. Smile

I started on the "Angel" episode scene first. Just coloring in Buffy's black crocheted top made me happy. Trying to figure out how to get her Season 1 hair right is a little harder!

Think you can scan it or take a picture for us when you're done?

Sure! As long as you promise not to hold me to any coloring standard above that of your average elementary schooler! Very Happy

I think the artist did a better job capturing Buffy than Angel, but then again, it's hard to look at DB for too long and not be blinded by the hotness.

Cool! I don't know who the artist is but they picked a good one. Even the comics were a little lacking when it came to likeness sometimes.

And don't be silly, you did a great job coloring. Smile

You're too kind!

The artist for this one is Steve Morris (just looked it up). I haven't followed the comics, but he has done some of the cover art, according to his bio in the book. Altogether, nine Dark Horse-affiliated artists contributed, so the pages vary a lot. But as long as I have a few good ones (Steve Morris also did the Becoming Part 2 scene!), I don't mind having the less realistic interpretations too.

Oh, interesting. I actually wasn't a huge fan of his covers -- too stylized for my tastes. But designing a comic cover is a lot different than drawing a coloring page, so I'm not surprised I didn't think I knew him.

Thanks, cheryl!

Kairos, the other artists are Pablo Churin, Newsha Ghasemi, Rebekah Isaacs, Georges Jeanty, Yishan Li, Fernando Melek, Karl Moline and Facundo Percio. I'm guessing those are names you recognize?

And here's the Becoming Part 2 scene, in case anyone would like to see it!

Some of them, yup! Isaacs is my favorite. I met Georges Jeanty once and he's a great guy.

Another lovely image. Thanks!

Oh, that's fun!

I started on the ice-skating scene yesterday. It's by Yishan Li. Comic fan, I saw in your post over in the comic forum that she's the artist for the High School Years.

I was disappointed that we didn't see Buffy on the ice again after Season 2. But I read your "Pair Skating" fic yesterday and LOVED it, Kairos!

It made me try to think of a time that any other romantic partner did something that was nice for Buffy that didn't relate to a fight / the Big Bad / etc. I'm sure there are some examples, but I'm having trouble coming up with them! I guess the Riley picnic? But that was a nice gesture that he probably used with multiple girls, not really based on Buffy's personality.

You...you read my fic? *deep blush* Thank you!

I think Riley probably did a lot of nice things for Buffy. They were just the kinds of things that were never done on screen because nobody would have been interested. Smile
