The Buffy/Angelverse is famous for its multitude of references. Films, TV, poems, etc. I want to see how many we can pick up.

Try this one from Graduation Day - Xander's quote comes from Jaws: "We're going to need a bigger boat." (From the scene where he and Giles are looking at the BIG picture)

An obvious one is the direct quotes from Jack London's Call of the Wild in "Beauty and the Beasts".

Yes, that one stands out.

What about visual refences too... the scene in The Thin Dead Line where the cop comes out of the shadows was a direct lift from Terminator 2.

"You were my Yoda" Spike to Angel in 'School Hard'.

And

"Darth Vampire" Gunn about Angelus in Calvary(?) - one of the eppy's in season 4's Angelus arc, anyway.

Actually, I think there were several Star Wars refs. In the episode where Andrew killed Jonathan they made a couple of mentions.

The Geek Trio were good for various references - didn't they have a Riker/Picard vs. Kirk/Spock debate?

And then, of course, the whole "Boba Fett" action figure thing.

I know in one of the earlier seasons of BtVS, Buffy quotes from the movie The Usual Suspects (I'm thinking it's either the episode "Angel" but I could be wrong).

Angel talking about the Charleton Heston double feature on "Fredless" made me nervous, though.

That was pretty scary, Sharon.

There's the whole Lorne Green/Bonanza thing, and another obvious one... the Scooby Gang.

Do you remember the lunch box that Willow is using for her "forensics" kit in "Beauty and the Beasts"? The Scooby Doo box? I carried that lunch box while I was in school. I still have it, in fact.

Oh, and that sword that Angel had to go fetch from somewhere last season? I can't remember the eppie title, but it was some Magic Sword. I've got one of those, too. The really funny thing here is that...and you'll probably never be able to see it...the pommel of the sword has writing on it reading, on one side, "Robin of Sherwood" and on the other "Earl of Locksley".

My ex-husband bought it for me years ago for my ongoing Robin-Hood-worship. Laughing

Thought of another one - in "When She Was Bad", in the opening, Willow and Xander are eating ice cream together and Xander says, "I mock you with my ice cream cone, Amish man" or something like that...in a weird take on the movie Witness.

Early Season 1 of Angel is full of Batman references.

Season 4 'Jasmine' arc has supplied a couple of movie references - both from Lorne.
He compares the people milling around the Hyperion to the scene in the Beatles film ' Hard Day's Night' where all the fans follow the band to their home.
And he says that Jasmine is the 'Greatest story ever Told' on another occasion.

Another Carrie reference was in Ats season 1 'She', where Cordelia is talking to Angel on the phone saying "Did she pull a Carrie" meaning did Jira try to burn Angel. Angel can't hear her properly and throws the phone away in disgust! Just love the cell phone cracks.

Here's a couple more.

Lilah refers to Fred as 'Gidget' in 'Supersymmetry' (Ats season 4) that was a sixties TV series starring Sally Field.

Lorne asks the rest of the fang gang if they feel like the last Stepford Wife in 'Sacrifice' (Ats Jasmine arc season 4), when they are all in the car escaping from the Hyperion.
